Today, reflect on how far you’ve come to get to where you are in your fitness training. Reflect on the challenges that you have overcome, all that you have conquered along the way, and the milestones you have met. It is important to pause and reflect from time to time to realize the progress you have made, to keep your momentum going, and to keep pushing you forward towards your goals.
Look back at your training journals, before and after photos, race times, anything that you’ve kept track of in your training that will show you the progress you’ve made. I track all of my training in a small journal. I track what I did—activity and duration—how I felt during that workout, and my overall mood for that day. If you don’t have a training journal, I highly recommend you start one. It helps to identify patterns, any missing holes you may have in your training, is a great reflection tool, and (maybe most importantly) keeps you motivated.
Reflect and be proud of how far you’ve come. Reflection is the perfect fuel for re-inspiration to tackle your fitness goals.
